Highlights include Memoirs, Private Papers of Thomas Jefferson, Four Vols. 1829, artwork by Gustave Cimiotti, Jr. (1875 - 1969), Isabel (Wolff) Bishop (1902 - 1988), Lewis (Luigi) Bosa (1905-1981), Anders Zorn (1860-1920), Joseph J. Remlinger (New Jersey/Pennsylvania, 1909-1967), Jorge Noceda Sanchez (Dominican/American, 1931-1987), Helen Bershad (American, Born 1934), Fernando Cueto Amorsolo (1892-1972) and Joseph Barrett (Born 1936). Also included is a good selection of art glass by Durand, Honesdale and Dorflinger, Native American pottery including works by Maria and Julian Martinez, a good selection of silver from the 17th to the 20th centuries, rare prints by Picasso, Dali and others, and selected furniture and decorative arts. Of special interest are items that are associated with the Roebling family of Trenton, NJ, including original technical drawings by the Roebling Co.

Comprising: a small souvenir book of the Niagara Falls, 'Sweet Was The Song' by Ben Shahn, Odyssey Press, 1965, signed by the author, 'Prison Life in the Tobacco Warehouse at Richmond', by Lieut. William C. Harris, published by George W. Childs, 1862, 'What Prohibition Has Done To America', by Fabian Franklin, Harcourt, Brace and Co. 1922, 'Brooke's General Gazetteer Improved...' by R. Brookes, published by Johnson and Warner, 1812 (with several pull-out maps), 'N by E', by Rockwell Kent, New York Literary Guild, 1930, and 'The Siege of Havana, 1762' by Francis Russell Hart, Houghton Mifflin Company, 1931. 

Dimensions: from 4" x 6" to 10 1/2" x 7". 

Provenance: Mary G. Roebling (1995-1994), Trenton, New Jersey.

Acquired from above by present owner.

Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Collection.

Footnote: Mary G. Roebling (New Jersey, 1905-1994) was the first woman to serve as the head of a major commercial bank in the United States when she became president of the Trenton Trust in 1937.


Condition:

The Shahn book retains the jacket but has losses and abrasions. 


All show some wear, minor stains, etc.
