A English Portrait of a Woman, Early 19th Century - An unsigned oil on canvas portrait of Frances Carroll who according to text verso died in 1827 at 50 years of age. The gilt gesso frame appears to be original to the work.    Dimensions: 27” x 23”, the frame 32” x 27”.  Condition: There is a patch to the canvas as pictured, there is a canvas tear near the center, several small abrasions and craquelure. The frame shows wear and losses.
