Polemic by R. Meir Don Plotzki (Kli Chemdah) regarding the forged Talmud Yerushalmi on Seder Kodshim.
In 1905, Shloime Friedlander began working on what he claimed to be a manuscript of the Talmud Yerushalmi on Kodshim that his brother happened upon in Turkey. It was initially well received by many Rabbonim including R. Shalom Mordechai Schwadron, R. Yehuda Grunewald and R. Eliezer Deutsch who wrote warm approbations for the work. Shortly after its publication, many Rabbonim concluded that this work was a blatant forgery. In this sefer R. Meir Don Plotzki extensively explains the various proofs that the manuscript was a sham. With important correspondence on the topic from many of the era’s greatest Rabbonim including the Avnei Nezer, the Imrei Emes, the Ostrovtsa Gaon, the Rogatchover Gaon, the Chelkas Yoav, R. Meir Simcha Cohen, R. Dovid Aryeh Ritter and R. Avrohom Binyomin Kluger.
With addendum Bais Yehuda and Imrei Yisroel containing Talmudic novella of R. Plotzki.
Kerunburg press. 56, 17, 11 pages. 21 cm. Overall good condition. Dry paper, two pages stained and detached. Antique binding.
