The creation of a personal bookplate affirms the importance a collector places on his relationship to his books. The collection and careful preservation of these Jewish bookplates has been a labor of love.
     Two of the binders in this collection represent personal bookplates and the third binder are of European and American congregations and institutions.
     The collection includes bookplates designed by such leading artists as E.M. Lilien, Max Pollak, Arthur Szyk, Zev Raban, Hermann Struck and Joseph Budko. Some accompanied by an autograph signature. Institutions from whose library these bookplates derive include: Izraelicka Biblioteka Gminna, Lvov; Israelitisch-Theologische Lehranstalt Bibliothek, Vienna; Hebrew Library, Kovno; Biblioteka Synagogi na Tlomackiem, Warsaw; Chevra Yesodei Batei Sefer Ivri'im, Lodz; etc.
     Individuals of note whose bookplates appear in this collection include: Moses A. Dropsie, Leon H. Elmaleh, David de Sola Pool, Dr. Kaufman Kohler, Solomon Schechter, Ilya Schor etc.
