The responsa is in the laws of Berachot, answering Kdusha during the prayer and the woman's modesty. The responsa was written in response to questions sent to him by Rabbi Sovel. On the reverse side of the leaf, a copying of some of the responsa in the handwriting of Rabbi Sovel.
19 handwritten lines. 16x20 cm.
Condition: Good. A tear due to folding.
B. Long halachic responsum handwritten by Rabbi Sonnenfeld in response to a question by Rabbi Sovel on the laws of the Sechach for the Sukkah.
On the reverse side of the leaf, a letter by Rabbi Sovel asking Rabbi Sonnenfeld "to study question A, which concerns the public and instruct us and state his halachic ruling and we await his response". The leaf of questions is not included.
13 handwritten lines. 16x20 cm.
Condition: Fair. A tear in the middle of the leaf due to folding with no omission.
The above responsa was printed in the "Shalmat Chaim" Responsa book, which Rabbi Sovel had compiled from the questions he had asked and the responses he had received by Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld.
Rabbi Shlomo Sovel (1901-1970), a Torah scholar and Jerusalem Darshan. Corresponded with the most prominent rabbis, especially Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld and Rabbi Yosef Rosen (The Rogatchover). He published these correspondences in two books: "Shalmat Yosef" and "Shalmat Chaim". He also authored the book "Simlah Chadasha" three sections (attached in biographic material about Rabbi Shlomo Sovel written by Rabbi Chanoch Zundel Grossberg of Jerusalem).
