Kol Mechatzetzim – Polemic – Lemberg 1853
A Jewish Enlightenment book of unique style which contains humorous criticism by Tuviah Feder on the Yiddish translation of the Book of Proverbs by Menachem Mendel Lefin of Satanow. With a preface by Avraham Mendel Meagher. Lemberg 1853.
Tzeitlin, Kiryat Sefer, pp. 82, the writer of the first part of this composition, which was published in Berditchev in 1817. This edition of the book is unknown today. It turns out that before us is the first printed edition, which was published forty years after the writing of the composition and approximately thirty six years after Feder's death, a fact which can indicate the strong impression the composition had made since the polemic that followed its publishing and the desire of members of the Enlightenment Movement to see it printed. Until then, the book was not printed due to the pressure of other members of the Jewish Enlightenment Movement led by Ya'akov Shmuel Byk, as described in the book.
