CARRIER JEAN BAPTISTE: (1756-1794) French Revolutionary and member of the Convention. Well-remembered for his infamous Drownings at Nantes (`Noyades de Nantes´). He was guillotined on 16th December. The partially printed document bears the heading ''Les Représenants du Peule'' (''The Representatives of the People'') and is the appointment of citizen Colliot as member of the council, stating in part `We have no doubt that your patriotism will oblige you to accept a position occupied for too long by men unworthy of the name of Republicans.
