BLERIOT LOUIS: (1872-1936) French Aviator, the first man to fly across the English Channel, 1909. A.L.S., L. Blériot, one page, 4to, Paris, 12th January 1922, on his personal printed stationery, to the Aero-Club Secretaire General, in French. Bleriot explains to his correspondent that his health situation prevents him from attending the today´s day meeting, and states `I kindly ask you to tell my committee members colleagues who were intending to vote for me as President of our aero-club, that not only I am not candidate to the Presidency but also that I kindly ask them to consider giving their votes to Monsieur Flanedin, as I am convinced that no one else will better lead our aero-club into progress and prosperity,´ Annotated in another hand at the heading.
