A FRENCH BRONZE BY L. GREGOIRE "PERSEUS AND ANDROMEDA"
A bronze sculpture by L. Gregoire. The grouping depicts serpentinata with Perseus carrying Andromeda in his hands.
Footnote: according to the oracle's prophecy, Poseidon chained Andromeda to a rock by the sea to sacrifice her to the sea monster Ketos. Perseus, however, defeated the monster, freed Andromeda, and took her as his wife.
