A RUSSIAN SOVIET-ERA PORCELAIN PROPAGANDA FIGURINES

A pair of fine Ukrainian Soviet propaganda porcelain figurines depicting a boy laying out the word STALIN from cubes and a girl laying out the word LENIN. The figurines are finely modeled and neatly hand-painted. Designed by Svetlana Vladislavovna Golembovskaya (Bolzan), 1927 to 2016. Produced by the Gorodnitsa factory, circa 1953. The figurines are stamped to the bottom with a red overglaze marker mark. Gorodnitsky Porcelain Factory was one of the largest enterprises for the production of porcelain in Ukraine and throughout the USSR.
