Rav Alexander Moshe (1819-1906), one of the gedolim of Lita, was rav in various cities in Lithuania during a 70 year period. He first became a Rav at the age of 17, in the city of Yanova. His last position was as Rav of Rassein, a position he held for 40 years. He was a talmid of R Yisroel Salanter. Letter is in overall good condition. The spot where he mentions the name of R' Chaim Volozhiner is partially torn.
