Mitzvos Nashim Melumadah, a Sefer of Halachah for Women in Italian. Venice, 1652
Exquisite antique leather binding

Halachah for Women
The laws of Challah, Niddah, and candle lighting with words of mussar and derech eretz—a special compilation for women.

The sefer was originally compiled in Yiddish by Rabbi Binyamin Salanik, author of Shu”t Masa’as Binyamin, and published in Cracow in the year 1577 under the title, Seder Mitzvas Hanashim. This edition is an Italian translation by Rabbi Yaakov Halperin, author of Shu”t Nachalas Yaakov.
This is an exceptionally rare sefer. Israel’s National Library only recently acquired one copy from the Valmadonna Trust.

Unique and magnificent 17th century Moroccan leather binding with gold embossing, geometric designs, decorative frames, leaves and flowers.
The owner’s name, Rachel Di Pelestrina, is embossed on both the front and back of the sefer.

Venice, 1652. [16], [100]: sides Page size: 19 cm. Italian with Hebrew quotes. Good condition, minor wear of binding and corners. New matching case.
