Teitelbaum-Halberstam Dynasty
Original Wedding Invitation from the Admor, Author of the Atzei Chaim. Sighet, 1919
Invitation to the wedding of the daughter of the Admor Harav Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum of Sighet, author of the Atzei Chaim, to Rav Chaim Yitzchak Eizik Halberstam, future Av Beis Din of Slotfina, son of Harav Yehoshua of Dalina (son of Rav Moshe of Bardyov, son of Rav Baruch of Gorlitz, son of the Divrei Chaim).
The wedding took place in Sighet on the 14th of Sivan, 1919. The chassan studied in the yeshivah of the Atzei Chaim who then chose him as his son-in-law. Years later, his father-in-law appointed him as Rav of Slotfina.
A poetic acrostic, spelling the initials of the chassan and kallah appears at the beginning of the invitation. It closes with the Admor’s blessing, “Who looks forward to greeting you and who prays for your peace and success all the years.”
Sighet, 1919. Size: 21x14 cm. Unidentified handwritten Torah novella appear on verso of invitation. Marginal tears.
