A SILVER FINGER-RING DEPICTING THE BUST OF A BEARDED MAN
Clasic or Early Hellenistic Period, ca. 400-300 BCE. 16.94 gr (which is the weight of an Athenian silver tetradrachm). The bust is depicted adorned by a wreath and wearing a toga, resembling the portrait of Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great. On the upper side of the ring appears another engraving showing a seated female figure. The lower half of the shank is restored, yet in very good condition. Ex Private coll., Herzliya.
