Interesting and distinguished letter with handwritten additions and the signature of the Rebbe of Chabad - Harav Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch.

Background: This letter was in response to a certain shul where the custom was to make a kiddush after davening on Shabbos. At one point, people decided to learn on the table where the kiddush was being held, and the question arose whether it was at all permitted to make Kiddush in the beis knesses. There were those who asked why the kiddush shouldn't be held in an adjoining room while the learning would be in the shul proper.

The Rebbe writes that one must avoid controversy for that causes a decrease in the number of leaners, "and since those making the kiddush preceded [the learners] and they are the majority... therefore, in my opinion, if the two parties can discuss the matter pleasantly between them... good, and if there is a hint of machlokes, the new arrangement should find a different location..."

In the end, the Rebbe writes about making set times for Torah study, "and as a ben yeshivah, I hope he has this kvius every day, both in the daytime and at night... and may Hashem grant him success."

מכתב חשוב ומעניין עם הוספות בכתב וחתימת יד קדשו של הרבי מחב"ד - האדמו"ר רבי מנחם מענדל שניאורסון מליובאוויטש.

רקע: נכתב בעקבות בית כנסת שנוהגים לערוך קידוש לאחר התפילה בשבת, ולאחרונה החליטו ללמוד דוקא על השולחן בו נערך הקידוש, והשאלה האם יש היתר לערוך בכלל קידוש בבית הכנסת ומדוע שלא יערכו הקידוש בחדר הסמוך, והלימוד יהיה בביהכ"נ.

הרבי כותב על כך שצריך להיזהר מהמחלוקת שע"י כך מתמעטים הלומדים "וכיון שעורכי הקידוש קדמו ומספרם מרובה יותר .... ולכן לדעתי אם בטוב ובדרכי נועם יתדברו ביניהם ... מה טוב, ואם יש חשש למחלוקת, אזי הקביעות החדשה תקבע לה מקום חדש ...".

בסופו כותב לו הרבי על קביעת עתים לתורה "וכבן ישיבה - תקותי שיש לו קביעות זו בכל יום הן בבקר והן בערב .. והשי"ת יצליחו".
