A pair of antique ”Trees of Life” rods for the Torah scroll made of brass. The central wooden rods were designed for rolling the parchment sheets of the Torah scroll. The shaped brass handles allow for a comfortable grip and rotation of the roll, while the wide brass discs (”plates”) protect the parchment from above and below and prevent it from slipping out. The use of metals such as brass or silver to create handles and plates for Trees of Life was very common in many Jewish communities in Eastern Europe, and this style of engraving and design is particularly associated with workshops in Galicia and Poland during the 19th century. Condition: Good, Height: 62 cm.
