In this album, numbered 77/84, METAMORPHOSES HERMETIQUES (Hidden Transformations) contains 6 color etchings, and six poems, by Mordecai Moreh.
The etchings were created using the dry etching and aquatint method, by the artist, on 3 separate copper plates, the paint was applied using the "a la pope" method and for some etchings 21 colors.
The title ring was engraved by Moreh and the engraving was done by the Fontaine workshop in Paris.
Mordecai Moreh (born November 15, 1937) is an Israeli painter who lives in Paris and Jerusalem.
Born in Baghdad to a wealthy traditional Jewish family. His father was an accountant in a British company and his mother was a teacher of French and embroidery. Mordecai is the youngest of his three brothers and two sisters. He began drawing at the age of 4. At the age of 14, he immigrated to Israel alone. His family members joined him a year later.
