Carpet made by "Bezalel"/"Marvadia" – Adam and Eve – Jerusalem, 1920s
A carpet decorated with figures of Adam, Eve and the serpent beside the Tree of Knowledge, between them the Tree of Knowledge and on which the serpent is coiled, looking down. The two kneel on either side of the tree; behind Eve, who is extending her hand with a fruit in it towards Adam, lies a deer, and behind Adam lies a lion. The lower part of the frame contains the inscription "Adam and Eve" and below it another inscription, "Marvadia Jerusalem".
61X46 cm. Good condition. Minor defects. A few repairs
