Auction No. 39 will be on Tuesday, May 7 at 18.00 P.M.


We will present in the auction 600 rare and special items, among them : 


1. Original Mandate for The Land of Israel, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq as agreed between France and England and brought to the approval of the British Parliament. The document was printed in His Majesty's Stationery Office and it's one of the foundational documents in the modern political science with a museum value for Jewish history.


2. "Otsar Ha-Hagadot" - Numbered copy - No. 72 of 100 copies. 


3. Special edition of "The Guide for the Perplexed" with a lot of illustrations and sketches and commentary by Salomon Maimon.


4. "Shevet Musar" book, among the early Jerusalem books with four engravings.


5. Rare and important book of the Jewish architect Erich Mendelsohn.


6. Book with a signature by the Rebbe of the Kaliv Hasidic dynasty.

An exciting museum item : The Mandate for Palestine [The Land of Israel] is submitted for approval by the British Parliament by order of the King.
Franco-British Convention of December 23, 1920 on certain points connected with the mandates for Syria and the Lebanon, Palestine and Mesopotamia - Presented to Parliament by command of His Majesty. London : His Majesty's Stationery Office, 1921. 4 pp. 33.5 cm., very few stains, very small holes - no damage to text. 

Franco-British Convention of December 23, 1920 to divide the mandate areas between them was signed on. In this convention, England received the Land of Israel including the eastern Jordan and France received Lebanon and Syria. Iraq [Mesopotamia] was included in the territory of the French mandate. The agreement was signed in Paris and brought to the approval of the British Parliament by the King's order.
