Rabbi Bezalel Ashkenazi: a 16th century Talmudist. He is best known as the author of Shitah Mekubetzet, a commentary on the Talmud. His most important disciple was the famous Kabbalist, Rabbi Isaac Luria [AR"I ZAL].
