RUSSIAN ARMENIAN OIL PAINTING BY MINAS AVETISYAN
Minas Avetisyan, Russian, Armenian, 1928 to 1975, oil on paper double sided painting depicting an expressionist cityscape on the front side and a primitivist landscape on the back. Signed in Russian lower right. Framed. Minas Avetisyan was a Russian, Armenian modernist painter. He emerged as an artist at the Exhibition of Five in Yerevan in 1962. Numerous specialists and visitors to the exhibition appreciated his work greatly. According to some sources, he was murdered by the KGB. Mid Century Armenian Paintings And Art Collectibles.
