ATTR TO MAUD LEWIS LANDSCAPE WATERCOLOR PAINTING
Watercolor on paper painting. Attributed to Maud Lewis, 1903 to 1970, a Canadian folk artist from Nova Scotia. She achieved national recognition in 1964 and 1965 for her cheerful paintings of landscapes, animals and flowers, which offer a nostalgic and optimistic vision of her native province. This lot represents a winter scene, two children carrying Christmas tree branches, seen through the window. Signed in the lower right. Undated. Unframed.
