An antique Russian novel book, Uncle Toms Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe, translated from English by E.B, and the essay by I. Gorbunov Posadov Liberators of Black Slaves. With many illustrations. Edited by I. Gorbunov Posadov. Hardcover. Printing house of the I.D. Sytin, Moscow, 1902. Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe, 1811 to 1896, was an American author and abolitionist. She came from the religious Beecher family and wrote the popular novel Uncle Toms Cabin, 1852, which depicts the harsh conditions experienced by enslaved African Americans.
