The Good Soldier Svejk by Jaroslav Hasek. In Russian. Complete set of six volumes in five books. Vols. V and VI are official sequels written by Karel Vanek. Published by Gramatu Draugs, Riga, 1928. Custom made hardcover. In pre-redorm spelling. Jaroslav Hasek, 1883 to 1923, was a Czech writer, satirist, and communist comissar. He is best known for his novel The Fate of the Good Soldier Svejk during the World War, an unfinished collection of stories about a soldier in World War I. Following the authors death, the series was finished by journalist Karel Vanek at the request of the publisher. Antiquarian Librarian Books For Collectors.
