ANCIENT CHINESE 5TH C AD GILT MARBLE BUDDHA HEAD
An Ancient Chinese carved marble stone sculpture, the head of Shakyamuni Buddha. Era of Northern and Southern dynasties, ca. 5th century AD. A lotus with an Amitabha Buddha meditating is presented above the forehead crown. Traces of polychrome coloring as well of a thin layer of gilt, almost completely washed out. The piece is mounted on a pedestal. Buddhist Religious Collectibles, Archaeological Finds And Relics.
Dimensions: H 7 in, W 4 in. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Overall good antique condition. Signs of wear and Age. Refer to photos. Sold as is.
