RUSSIAN MILITARY ORDER OF THE RED BANNER 2 AWARD

Russian Order of the Red Banner 2nd award - The Order of the Red Banner was established to reward for special bravery, dedication, and courage displayed in defense of the socialist Fatherland, as well as for particularly significant features, for outstanding leadership in military operations of military units, and courage shown during the performance of a special mission, etc. First awarded on September 30, 1918, last awarded on December 24, 1991. The Order of the Red Banner is a sign made of gilt silver, in the form of an unfolded enameled red banner with the inscription - Workers of all countries, unite, and a carved laurel wreath below. In the center, there are a hammer and a plow on a white enamel background, covered with a red five-pointed enamel star, of which only three beams are visible. The hammer and sickle are depicted in the middle of the star. There is a red enamel ribbon with the inscription USSR on the laurel wreath. Under the middle of the ribbon on the white enameled shield is placed the number 2. At subsequent awards, the corresponding numbers are displayed on the shield of the Order. The medal is connected to a block covered with red and white silk moiré ribbon. At the silver order's back, there is an engraved inscription in Russian-Mint, serial number 9424.
