Kavod Melech. Sermon regarding the obligation to honor Czar Alexander II and an elucidation on Chapter 21 of Psalms regarding the attributes of a king, by Rabbi Zvi Hirsh Dynów. Odessa, 1869. First edition.  Lengthy sermon that ends with a prayer for Alexander II. The second section, Oz V'Yeshuot Melech, with a half-title, features a sermon on Chapter 21 of Psalms that the author delivered on April 4, 1866, the day that Alexander II was saved from an assassination attempt. Additional Russian title page. Despite the title page text, the Russian translation was not printed.Czar Alexander II ruled Russia from 1855 to 1881. At the start of his reign, relations with the Jews improved; however, this improvement did not last long. The Czar was assassinated in 1881 after a number of unsuccessful attempts. Especially rare work.
