Elucidations on the parshah and novellae on Gemara, Rashi, Tosfos by Rabbi Shmuel Salir, rav”d Lemberg.
The author was greatly admired in his time and his work on the Torah was widely appreciated by other rabbis. The book opens with prominent approbations, including ones from Rabbi Naftali of Ropshitz and the Yismach Moshe.
The leaves of the book are filled with many dozens of lengthy chiddushim, some of which end with the signature: הק' יוסף בהרב מוהר"ץ זללה"ה.
(This is apparently the signature of Rabbi Yosef Grauer av”d Ostrov and other communities, author of
Glilei Kesef, Vilna, 1870 and
Sal HaMatzos, Vilna, 1881.)
