Collection of Invitations - by Rabbis and Important Families of Jerusalem Ca. 1920-1930

Fascinating collection of invitations by heads of families in Jerusalem, Rabbis, Geonim and Men of Fame,  Ca. 1920-1933. 


The invitations represent an important and special variety of important families of illustrious lineage, from which important branches have spread in Israel, particularly in Jerusalem. 


• Marriage of the groom, Yechiel Yehuda, son of R’ David Zeidel Schlesinger and Mrs. Miriam, and the bride, Chaya Fradil, daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Tzvi Minzberg, Raavad of the Chassidic Communities in the Holy City.


• Marriage of the groom, David, son of R’ Mordechai Yitzchak Samet and the bride Matel Feiga, daughter of R’ Yosef Adler, of illustrious lineage, scion of the Rebbe Reb Elimelech of Lizhensk and the holy Lelover Rebbe.


• Marriage of the groom Yitzchak, son of R’ Pinchas Eliezer HaKohen Paksher – from the important and branched families of Jerusalem, with the bride Leah Tziporah, daughter of R’ Eliyahu Nachman Porush Glickman – from the greatest Talmidei Chachomim and finery of Jerusalem.

• Marriage of the groom Zalmen, son of R’ Eliyahu Yosef Rivlin, and the bride Rivka, daughter of R’ Moshe Rivlin.


• Marriage of the groom Yaakov Yitzchak son of Rabbi Yosef Adler, and the bride Miriam Gittel, daughter of R’ Mordechai David Brim, father of the illustrious Geonim of the Brim family.


• Marriage of the groom Zeida Moshe, son of R’ Avraam and Devorah Shifman, and the bride Miss Bracha, daughter of R’ Mordechai Aharon Fishman, from the leaders and crowns of the Boyan Chassidim, and his wife Reizel


• Marriage of the groom Avraham Yaakov, son of R’ Alter Benzion and Chana Malka Safranovitch, and the bride Tziporah, daughter of R’ Meir and Rivka Chaya Eichler, head of important families in Jerusalem

• Marriage of the groom Shabtai son of Mrs. Miriam Heilprin of Trenstene and the bride Sarah, daughter of Lipa Lederman and his wife Chinke. On verso of this invitation is a long letter in Yiddish with many details.


• Invitation to the marriage of the bride Chaya Ruchama, daughter of the Gaon, the Tzaddik Rabbi Shmuel Hilel Sheinker, the illustrious son-in-law of Maran Rav Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, Master of the Land of Israel, with the groom Rabbi Tzvi HaKohen Kupshitz, son of the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Aharon HaKohen Kupshitz – the future in-laws of Maran Rabbi Nissim Karelitz, and heads of illustrious families.

On verso of the invitation is an entire letter, handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Hillel, to the intended son-in-law whose wedding invitation is on the front.



[14] printed invitations. Some of them have personal letters on their verso by important dignitaries. All the invitations are for weddings except for one, which is for a Bar Mitzvah. 

All the invitations are complete; most of them are slightly worn. Some are in very good condition.
