Rare: Letter on the Age of Marriage by the Holy Rav the Makor Baruch of Seret Vizhnitz

Rare letter, response handwritten and signed by the Makor Baruch of Seret Vizhnitz about the advisable age of marriage.

The letter was sent from Haifa in 1950. The addressee's name is not noted. The Makor Baruch answers a question he was asked, apologizing for the delay in his response which was caused by him not being at home for a long time. In response to the question, he refers to Masechet Kiddushin, emphasziing the importance of marriage at a young age to protect against the Yetzer.

The Makor Baruch copies the words of the Birkei Yosef who wrote that nowadays, the age of marriage should not be 13 as stated in the Gemore; yet, it should be earlier than 17-18.

The content indicates it was sent to an activist following the Marriage Age Act that was discussed in those days by the Knesset; yet, as stated, the addressee's name does not appear in it at all.

[1] official stationery. Handwritten and signed by the Makor Baruch. Fold lines. Mostly dark paper. Good-very good condition.
