Rare and Special Approbation by the Gaon Rabbi David Soloveitchik of Brisk about the Gaon Rabbi Sariel Rosenberg Av Beis Din of Bnei Berak
Rare and special approbation by the eldest Rosh Yeshiva, the Gaon Rabbi Meshulam David Soloveitchik, the son of Maran the Griz of Brisk about the Gaon Rabbi Sariel Rosenberg, eventually Rosh Av Beis Din Badatz of Bnei Berak and an important Posk Halacha.
Among others, he writes that he knows him from the time he studied in his yeshiva and praises his talent and virtues: 'הנני מכירו מזמן שלמג וגדל אצלנו בישיבתנו הק' לבעל כשרון גדול ונעלה שהי' שוקד על תלמודו ויגע לעמול על הבנת דברי הגמ' והראשונים ומחדש דברים ערבים ונעימים בסברא ישרה ובטוב טעם והשכל ושאיפתו היתה לעמוד על דבר אמת ולקנות מעלות התורה ודיעותי'.
[Rabbi Meshulam David adds sorrowfully: שבעונותינו הרבים הצליח מעשי שטן בזה לבלבל יותר הרבה מאד ד' ישמור]
וצמא לשמוע דבר ד' ומצורף לזה הוא בעל מדות נעלות ונעים הליכות ע"כ זכה עי"ז להתעלות במעלות תוה"ק ולקנות הרבה חכמה ודעת וידיו רב לו במלחמתה של תורה ובמו"מ של הלכה לישא וליתן לעורר ולחדש בחריפות ובבקיאות על דרך ההעמקה וההבנה וגם נתעלה ביראת ה' שזה עיקר הקיום של חכמת התורה.
The letter is from 1978 and was written in Jerusalem.
