Sefer lechem Setarim, commentary by Rabbi Yosef Taitchak, the Rav of the Alshich and Rabbi Shlomo Elkavatz. Venice, 1608. First and single edition.  One of the rarest copies. Has not been seen in auctions. 


The lechem Setarim commentary by the great Rav Rabbi Yosef Taitchak was edited by Rabbi Shmuel ben Amram and printed at the printery of Zuan de Gara in Venice in 1608. 


The Posek and Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Taitchak (1465-1546), a Kabbalist, POsek and Rosh Yeshiva after the expulsion from Spain. Established a large yeshiva in Salonika and his disciples included the Alshich Hakadosh, Rabbi Shlomo Elkavetz and Rabbi Eliezer Ashkenazi. Rabbi Yosef Karo refers to him in his books the Maggid Meisharim and the Beit Yosef. Some scholars believe the Beis Yosef himself was also one of his disciples. 


20 leaves. Ownership notations form the period in unidentifiable Sephardic script on the title page. Minor water and aging stains. Well-preserved. Minor professional restoration. Fine new semi-leather binding. Very good condition.
