Important letter handwritten by the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmuelovitz, the Rosh Yeshiva of Mir, about charity for an important Avrech studying at his yeshiva, the Mir Yeshiva. Jerusalem, 1976. 


11 lines handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmuelovitz. This letter indicates his love of Torah and his affection for the Avrechim of the Mir Yeshiva. The year is unclear: 1973, 1976 or 1977. 

The letter was sent to the famed activist Rabbi Menachem Porush and in it he asks for rabbi Avraham Auerbach. 

The letter ends with warm blessings: 'בכל הברכות האמורות בתורה ובכל אשר יפנה'. 


The great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmuelovitz (1902-1979) a great Rosh Yeshiva in the previous generation, For many tears served as Rosh Yeshivas Mir. In his youth he studied Torah at the Sha'ar HaTorah Yeshiva in Grodno with the Faon Rabbi Shimon Shkop, who greatly appreciated him and even appointed him to teach at the yeshiva of the younger students. Was renowned as a great diligent Torah scholar and a deep Ba'al Sevora and as having a wonderous memory. Already in his youth, his study was in-depth with several Chevrusos who changed from time to time yet all the time he remained delving into the sweet Sugiyyos. He married the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel. During the war, Rabbi Chaim exiled with his students of the Mir yeshiva wherever they went.
