Manuscript, the Torah of the Holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Chortkov which was Said by Him in Karlsbad - Has Not Been Published

'The Torah said by the Admor Shalita in Karlsbad on Shabbas Chazon after pleas by the Rav of Lublin', manuscript written by an important Chassid, from the Torah of the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Chortkov.

Part of this Torah was published, being attributed by mistake to the holy Rav the Ahavas Yisroel of Vizhnitz. This manuscript, however, is obviously by the holy Rav of Chortkov.

The handwritten leaf contains 'The Torah said by the Admor Shalita in Karlsbad. According to the manuscript, the Rav of Lublin came especially from Marienbad to the Admor Shalita, pleading with him to deliver some Divrei Torah.

The version of the manuscript, and especially the description of the 'trip' of the holy Rav Rabbi Meir Shapiro to Karlsbad clearly indicate that this Divrei Torah were said by the holy Rav of Chortkov and were attributed by mistake to the Ahavas Yisroel of Vizhnitz.

The Divrei Torah begin with the words 'פתח ואמר' and their content is the month of Menachem Av and the month of Tishrei.

The holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Chortkov [1854-1934] the son of Rabbi David Moshe of Chortkov and the son-in-law of his uncle the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura. His mother was the daughter of the holy Rav Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl. Thousands came to his court, headed by leading rabbis, Poskim and Geonim. Was one of the founders of the worldwide Agudas Yisroel, which he saw as a way to raise the horn of the Torah and Jewry everywhere and bring Yisroel closer to their Father in Heaven. Was president of Mo'etzes Gedolei HaTorah.
