Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Weiss of Shimani
Letter on matters of charity, handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Weiss, the beloved son of the holy Gaon Rabbi Sheftil Weiss who was known for his piety 'Heiliger Shimani Rav'. Vienna, 1924.
The letter was sent to Eretz Yisroel to the Gaon Rav Rabbi Menachem Mendel Deutsch of Jerusalem and enclosed with it was charity money for the ascent of the soul of people who passed away recently.
Rabbi Mordechai Weiss also sends his regards to his uncle, the famed holy Gaon Rabbi Moshe Yosef Hoffman 'The Dayan of Papa' who was famed for his piety.
The holy Gaon Rabbi Sheftil Weiss - 'Der Heiliger Shimanier Rav' author of Hilcheta Ravta LeShabbata was a leading disciple of Maran the Sheves Sofer and a renowned wonder-worker.
His succeeding son was the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Weiss of Shimani.
