Five Banknotes of 1 Israeli Lira - Keren HaMe'ah 1966, the 100th Anniversary of the Passing of the Rebbe the Tzemach Tzeddek

Five banknotes of 1 Israeli Lira, according to the Lubavitcher Rebbe's instruction on the 100th anniversary of the passing of the Rebbe the Tzemach Tzeddek to establish the Keren HaMea'h for printing and distributing his Seforim and additional activities for teaching Torah.

Towards 1966, the 100th anniversary of the passing of the Rebbe the Tzemach Tzeddek, the Rebbe suggested and called during a Sicha for Rosh Chodesh Elul 1965, Parashas Re'eh, to give each and ever one the opportunity to take part in distributing the Torah on the Hillula of the Admor the Tzemach Tzeddek, the 13th of Nissan 1966, the 100th anniversary of his passing.

Every banknote could be purchased for an amount up to twice its value, thus enabling the buyer to take part in Torah activities and distribution as well as the printing of the Rebbe the Tzemach Tzeddek's Seforim.

The participants were also asked to study Torah and Chassidus on the day of the Hillula.

All those who took part will be mentioned by the Lubavitcher Rebbe at the gravesite of the Rebbe Rayatz, the successor of Ba'al HaHillula.

The Rebbe emphasized that in addition to all the above, everyone should, of course, take part in an appropriate Hitva'adus.

On the Hillula day, during the special Hitva'adus, the Rebbe mentioned the matter of Keren HaMe'ah, emphasizing that Kol haMarbeh Harei Zeh Meshubach.

The Rebbe also promised the words of the Gemore 'tithe so as to become wealthy spiritually and materialistically'.
