Holy Letter by the Lubavitcher Rebbe for the Birth of a Girl with Hanhagos and Instructions

Important holy letter by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, with his blessings for the birth of a daughter, and instructions regarding the naming of children, the version of 'LeTorah, LeChupa, LeMa'asim Tovim' on the birth of a girl. Elul 1959.

The letter was sent in response to the news about the birth of the daughter of the senior Chassid Rabbi Menachem Yisroel Malov of Tel Aviv, to whom the Rebbe had sent many letters. The Rebbe writes that he received the telegram and the letter. It should be noted that the Chassid had sent a telegram and then a letter. The Rebbe himself added the word 'the telegram'.

In response, the Rebbe blesses them 'May it be from Hshem Yisborach that he raise her with his wife LeTorah, LeChupa, LeMa'asim Tovim'.

The Rebbe refers to the version of the blessing 'to be raised LeTorah', writing that the Rebbe the Rashab said that this custom pertains to the birth of a girl as well.

After his handwritten signature, he writes that the custom of the Rebbe Rayatz was that the parents are those who name their children, this in response to the Chassid's request from the Rebbe to tell him how to name the child. The Rebbe refers to the writings of the Ari and Sha'ar HaGilgulim.
