Handwritten permission notice by the Gaonim of Aleppo, “HaMore” head of the Gaon Yeshiva HaRav Ezra Atya and the Gaon HaRav Avraham Entebbe.
Permission for “the man Avraham ben Harahag Aaron Raful Shlita, born in Sivan 1932, for which we have come here today, Iyar 1948, Jerusalem.” Signed “HaTzair Ezra Atya” with stamp, “HaTzair Avraham Entebbe” The Gaon HaRav Ezra Atya: 1881-1970, Gaon who deeply understood and added to the Talmud and its commentaries, for close to fifty years he was head of the largest Jerusalem yeshiva Porat Yosef, which taught and grew the greatest sefardi rabbis, this generation’s greatest rabbis were his students, such as Ovadia Yosef, and others. HaRav Avraham Yeshaya Karlitz ba’al “HaHazon Ish” when he returned from the Western Wall visited the yeshiva, they began a discussion on the Torahr and afterwards the Hazon Ish called him a man “who is on par with the Rishonim.” HaRav Avraham Entebbe: 1877-1966. Deep understanding of Torah, one of the leaders of Aleppo, used as a Rabad in the Beit Din of Aleppo in Jerusalem for decades. HaRav Ezra Atya and Avraham Entebbe set their tfillot in the Matalon synagogue in HaRav Shlomo Eliezer Elfanderi street and would sit next to one another for many years.
