Sent to his relative Gaon Rav David, Av Beit Din of Antopal. A recommendation letter for a man from the Volozhin yeshiva, “Yisrael dov Shihi from Volozhin, he studiously learned here…he travels there to sit there and continue his studies and I request your honor to receive and support him…” The letter is written and signed by him, at the end he writes “it is hard for me to organize things in writing, so here it is in short.” Rare letter, in good condition, light stains.
