Two volumes, set 'Ohr HaChaim' on Torah, first edition, published during author's life. Venice 1742.
[2] volumes, set 'Ohr HaChaim' on Chamisha Chumshei Torah, from the holy Rabbi Chaim Iben Atar .  'מתושבי המערב ועתה הלך לקבוע בית המדרש בעיר ירושלם תובב"א' (a resident of the west, who now established his Beit Midrash in the city of Jerusalem ). Meir da Zara press. Venice 1742. First edition. With rave approbations from Rabbanim of Venice, Modena, and Argel (Algiers), who expressed the great virtues of the holy author and his sefer.

The holy Ohr HaChaim, Rabbainu Chaim ben Atar (1696-1743) notes in the introduction of his sefer 'Ohr HaChaim' that he wandered from the city of Salé (North West Morocco), due to war, trouble and persecution, and he writes further: "והאיר ה' את עיני שכלי אין זה אלא לקום ולעלות אל מקום חשבתי בו הוא מקום השכינה עיר הרמה... ואזרתי כגבר חלצי וסיכנתי עצמי סכנות גדולות דרך מדבר באתי בו".  On his way to Israel he arrived to the city of Livorno, there he met benefactors who helped him print his commentary  along Torah, Targum and Rashi. The sefer was prepared for print under the supervision of the author Rabbainu Chaim ben Atar, before he continued on to Israel. The printing of the sefer was delayed until the year 1742 because they needed to wait to complete the bureaucratic procedure arriving from Venice to issue certificates to print the sefer. The 'Ohr HaChaim' commentary was welcomed with joy in the Jewish communities, and Chassidic leaders saw this sefer as a significant basis, so they contributed a lot to print and distribute it.
Though the author wrote in the introduction the name of the sefer as 'Ohr HaChaim', the cover page of the sefer printed in the first print, appears with the name 'Ohrochot Chaim' and only in the sefer does the title 'Ohr HaChaim' appear on the commentary. In the following editions, the name of the sefer was corrected as the author noted.
