Book of the Customs of the Jews, Las costumbres de los Israelitas, Spanish. 1769. [61] 200 pages. Important book about the customs of the Jews and Bible stories. Originally written in French and translated into Spanish in the year 1769. Due to its historical importance, the book recently underwent digitization for preservation by the Universities of Harvard and Princeton and was printed again as a facsimile copy. It appears that this is the earliest edition of the book which has been preserved. The signature on the book testifies that this edition of the book was sent by a Jew from Florence to his sister in Eretz Yisrael in the month of Av, in the year 5697 (1937). Old parchment binding. In good condition.
