Handwritten Letter from Rabbi Aharon Gross, Av Beis Din of Lapush
Handwritten and signed letter from Rabbi Aharon Gross, regarding a donation to his yeshiva in Lapush, sent from the city of Satmar.
Dated Monday, 1936 or 1939. (The letter states Monday, the 42nd of the Omer. The 26th of Iyar fell out on a Monday in both of these years.)
Rabbi Aharon Gross was a grandson of Rabbi Moshe David Teitlebaum, Av Beis Din of Lapush, son of Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Yukal Teitlebaum, son-in-law of the Yetev Lev. Rabbi Aharon was a son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Chaim Teitlebaum, Av Beis Din of Krenitz, who was Rabbi Moshe David's eldest son. He succeeded his grandfather's position and led the yeshiva in Lapush, which is near Deyzh. On Shabbos, the disciples would travel with Rabbi Aharon to Satmar to Rabbi Yoel Teitlebaum. He was murdered in 1943 along with his entire congregation.
