Seder Ha’Dorot’. Kopyst, 1810
Seder Ha’Dorot’ of Rabbi Yechiel Ben Rabbi Shlomo Luria- Halperin, Rabbi of Minsk. Kopyst, 1810. [1] pg. of the introduction missing. 33.5 cm. Owner signatures on the title page and more. A unique composition on the chronological order of passing Torah from generation to generation by the sages to their students. Who came before who, who composed what, and their life stories which were passed on orally. This book is still a fundamental work with exclusive historical information about the Jewish nation. The composer writes lots of unknown historical facts, especially about his forbearer Rash”i – Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki ztz”l. He was a direct descendant of Rabbi Shlomo Luria, Rashi, Rabbi Yochanan HaSandlar and Rabban Gamliel HaZakein. This was one of the first books printed in Kopyst. New binding. Title page damaged. Few aging stains. Fine condition.
