Hundreds of illustrations, including tens of large illustrations printed on special paper. This is Colonel Sir Charles Wilson’s most significant work. The Wilson Arch located near the Western Wall is named for him. One of the fundamental works for the study of Jerusalem and Palestine in the 19th century. Original bindings with gold embossing. Gilt cut leaves. Minimal worming holes – primarily to the binding itself. Very fine condition.
