Large leaf from responsa booklet by Rabbi Akiva Eiger - with his handwriting and the signatures of his holy hand.
The entire page was written in handwriting, probably by the sons of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, during the editing of the first part of his responsa, with the addition of marks and inscriptions on the sides of the text, printed in 1835 under the guidance of Rabbi Akiva Eiger himself.
In two places, "signatures" were added in his handwriting: "Your loving father-in-law, Akiva" and "his friend Akiva".
At the end of the page were eight lines in the handwriting of Rabbi Akiva Eiger were added.

The first part of the responsa of Rabbi Akiva Eiger was printed in his lifetime, in Warsaw 1835, by his two sons, the Ge'onim Rabbi Avraham and Rabbi Shlomo Eiger, and under the close guidance of their great father. The editing process is described in detail in the introduction to the book. There are letters written by Rabbi Akiva Eiger on this subject.

Rabbi Akiva Eiger even instructed his sons in detailed instructions on how to deal with the titles in the heads of letters, which often contain "flattery dust" or "tidal dust", creating a uniform system of degrees for all applicants; In addition, he also instructed them on the printing and printing materials ("I will ask you my son, my friend, to keep an eye open for it that will be printed on fine paper that has been engraved and the letters are appropriate, because in my opinion the soul admires and is aware of the learning in a beautiful and elegant book ..." They have other instructions.
