Glosses by Rabbi Akiva Eiger on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim. Berlin, 1862. First edition.
In 1862 two editions of Rabbi Akiva Eiger's glosses on the Shulchan Aruch were printed. This one before us was printed in Berlin by his grandson, Rabbi Avraham as an independent book, And the other was printed by his son Rabbi Itzik Leib, on the Shulchan Aruch printed in Johannisborg, both of which are the basis for all the editions of the later printed glosses. Unlike the edition printed in Johannesburg, copied by Rabbi Iscke, son of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, from his father's scrolls, and published, the Berlin edition was made more precisely, as Nino writes in the preface to this edition. After the manuscript was in the hands of Rabbi Avraham, it was sent to Rabbi Akiva And he corrected it, added it, and added passages that did not appear to him, and after his review the manuscript was returned to his grandson for publication, and they printed it in Berlin.
