Interesting autograph postcard written shortly before his passing to a student. He writes how he heard some Yeshiva students who were studying in the Lithuanian Yeshivos stating that most of the previous generations’ Torah scholars were Lithuanian. He admonished them, saying that most of the Seforim used by Lithuanian Yeshivos, including Ketzos Ha’Choshen, Shev Shematsa, Ha’Makneh, Haflo’ah, Meloi Ha’Roim and more, were written by Polish Talmidei Chachomim. He concludes that this misconception disturbs him greatly and should be corrected.
R. Dovid Feldman (1884-1955), was born in Tolna. Known as an outstanding Talmid Chochom, he received Semicha from the MaHarShaM and R. Binyomin Weiss of Chernowitz. In 1910 he was appointed Rav in Leipzig, Germany where he established a Yeshiva. In 1933 he moved to England where was appointed as Rav of the Machzikei Hadas Shul in Manchester where he served with distinction until his passing.
Author of various important seforim most notably “Ir Dovid” on the Kitzur Shulchon Oruch.
14 by 9 cm. Excellent condition.
