Classic commentary on the Rosh on Seder Moed and Noshim by R. Nessanel Weil. At the top of the beautiful title page there’s an etching of a bird, likely in honor of the author’s wife Zipporah Faiga. This commentary was extraordinarily well received. Subsequently published in all major editions of the Talmud, it remains the principal commentary on the Rosh.
R. Nessanel Weil (1687-1769), was a descendant of R. Yaakov (MaHaRI) Weil. He studied under R. Avraham Broida in Prague, where he eventually served as Rosh Yeshiva. Renowned as one of the great Torah leaders of his era, in 1750 he was appointed as Rav in Karlsruhe where he completed and published his work Korban Nessanel.
Vinograd Karlsruhe 1. (First sefer printed in Karlsruhe) Johannes Ludwick Held press. [3], 146, [2] pages. 28 cm. Fine condition. Antique binding (reinforced spine).
