Paper-cut "Mizrah" – "Sha'alu Shlom Yerushalayim" – Yehudit Shadur – Israel, 1981
Paper-cut "Mizrah" by Yehudit Shadur. Israel, 1981.
Paper-cut in blue on yellowish background, with gold letters and silver and green decorations. Depicted in this paper-cut is the Temple Mount in a schematic style, surrounded by verses and letter combinations: an acronym representing the words "the holy city" appears on top, with the verse "Sha'alu Shlom Yerushalayim". On both sides of the paper-cut appear acronyms "Smu"t" [Sur Mera Vease Tov] and "Atl"s" [Ach Tov LeIsrael Sela] and below – the sentence "Mitzad Zeh Ruach Chaim" (from this direction comes the spirit of life). The paper-cut is signed in initial in pencil, in Hebrew and English, and is dedicated "To Dov and Tamar – with friendship, Yehudit".
Paper-cut: 26.5X20.5 cm, framed: 34.5X39.5 cm. Good condition. Unexamined out of frame.
