Zichron Shmuel on the Torah from a student of the Maggid of Kosnitz and the Chozeh of Lublin [Bardejov 1925], copy that belonged to Rabbi Shmuel Engel of Radomysl and his son-in-law Rabbi David Halpern of Dobczyce.
Specifications: 74 leaves, paper. Without spine or binding. 24 cm. The title page has Rabbi Shmuel Engel of Radomysl's foreign language stamp. Under the stamp there is a [slightly faded] signature by his son-in-law Rabbi David Halpern of Dobczyce: הק' דוד היילפרין אבדק"ק דאמבטשיץ חתן הרב הגאון מראדומישלא.
Rabbi Shmuel Engel of Radomysl [1853-1935] was a prominent halachic adjudicator in Galicia. He authored the Shu"t Maharash and was a close disciple of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz. After his Rebbe's passing, he joined the court of son, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Shinov.
Rabbi David Halberstam of Dobczyce was the Mahara"sh Engel's son-in-law and of Rabbi David Halberstam of Shinov's grandson, Rabbi Chaim of Sanz's son. His son was Rabbi Elchonon Halpern of Radomysl in Golders Green, London.
Fine condition: Water stains on a few leaves.
